Fundamentals

grouprides.cc is not an organizer but a facilitator of group rides.

The Grouprides are training rides, not races. For this ride, each participant brings their own bike suitable for the sport (e.g., road bike), as well as the necessary clothing and equipment (helmets, shoes, rain gear, etc.). All natural persons who have reached the age of 18 (the organizer may require proof of age) and are physically capable of participating in cycling are eligible to participate. grouprides.cc is an event facilitator, not an organizer. The rides are organized by the person mentioned on the detail page.

By using grouprides.cc and registering for a ride published on grouprides.cc by the organizer, you, as a participant, agree to the following terms and conditions.

By participating in the Groupride, you also expressly confirm:

  • that there are no health restrictions for participation (each participant is responsible for assessing their own health requirements for participation - the organizer assumes no liability for the health risks of participants related to participation in the event);
  • that you will observe and comply with traffic rules (including local laws) during the ride;
  • that you acknowledge the authority of any appointed Groupride guide and will follow their instructions;
  • that you will use a roadworthy road bike, wear a properly fitted and certified (CE) helmet;
  • that you consent to the taking of photos and videos of yourself during the event;
  • that you agree to the free publication of photos and videos of yourself during the event (e.g., on social media). By participating in the Groupride, you automatically give your consent for the mentioned purposes without requiring your explicit approval;
  • that grouprides.cc or third parties (such as cooperation partners) may contact you via email at your provided email address up to 30 days after the event;
  • that you voluntarily participate at your own responsibility and risk;
  • that you have no right to contest or take legal action against an exclusion from the Groupride or future Grouprides due to unsportsmanlike or dangerous riding behavior;
  • that neither the organizer nor grouprides is liable for damages arising from the event, except for damages resulting from intentional or grossly negligent breaches of duty. The risks include, but are not limited to: collisions with pedestrians, vehicles, other riders, moving or stationary objects; hazards arising from the condition of the route, equipment failures, weather conditions, inadequate safety accessories, accessories or materials, etc.
  • that there may be risks associated with participating in the Groupride and your own actions, as well as the actions or inactions of other participants, the nature of the area and road conditions in which events take place, the weather, and the conditions under which the event takes place, as well as the behavior of the participant themselves or other persons not involved in the event.

Liability and Insurance

  1. As a participant, you are fully responsible for your actions and are liable according to legal regulations. You are obliged to comply with all legally applicable rules, especially the duty of care in road traffic towards every other road user. The organizer is not liable for damages resulting from the participant's conscious assumption of the typical risks of cycling during the Groupride, especially for damages resulting from the participant's own actions. The organizer is also not liable for damages caused by the actions of third parties through the participants.
  2. Liability for property damage is limited to cases of intent or gross negligence. Liability for ordinary negligence is excluded. This does not apply to damages resulting from the violation of life, body, or health, which are based on a negligent breach of duty by the organizer or an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by a legal representative or agent of the organizer. This also does not apply to damages caused by grossly negligent breach of duty by the organizer or intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by a legal representative or agent of the organizer in other cases.
  3. As a participant, you are responsible for ensuring your own insurance coverage during the event. If fees are charged by the organizer for events, they do not include any insurance coverage for accidents, illness, or other insurance incidents.
  4. As a participant, you are aware that in the event of an accident for which the organizer is not liable under these conditions, you will be responsible for damages and any fees and costs that may arise. This includes, but is not limited to, the costs of police, fire department, or emergency services, or similar services such as mountain or high-altitude rescue. Should a situation arise in which participants are unable to make the decision to alert an emergency service or fail to do so, even though it would appear necessary from the perspective of an objective third party, they hereby give their consent for this to be done by an agent of the organizer or another person commissioned by the organizer at the participant's expense. The participant cannot claim reimbursement for any costs incurred from the organizer.
  5. As a participant, you are hereby informed that instructions during the ride and route during the event may deviate from the originally communicated and advertised instructions and briefings of the respective organizer due to important changes in traffic management or other unforeseeable events.
